Fat grafting is a common procedure which involves the transfer of fat cells from one part of the body to another. For small grafts local anesthesia is sufficient. This can be usefull to fill small depressions. For larger transfers like buttock augmentation, general anesthesia is preferred.
Surgeons have enlarged breasts with fat grafts, but this remains a controversial procedure with significant downsides. Breast cancer surgeons are uniformly against this procedure since it may make cancer detection more difficult.
